The National Composites Centre (NCC) in partnership with Composites UK, the trade association for the UK composites industry, are working together on delivering a package of support for SMEs through roadshow events, tailored company visits, enquiry handling and technical advice.
Companies eligible to apply for support include start-ups, micro companies and SMEs (<250 employees). In doing so, they will have access to the following services:
- A dedicated team for a quick response to queries
- A ‘pay-as-you-go’ price structure for access to NCC capability
- SME Support Fund ‘credits’
- An active presence of SME oriented events in different regions across the UK
- Information packages that link to external sources and providers
- Opportunities to participate in demonstrator projects to provide physical case studies showcasing UKSME products and capability
The partnership also looks to create a network of companies that can help deliver some of the support through the supply chain. For each enquiry, the NCC/Composites UK team will determine whether the solution is best delivered through NCC, one of the other catapult centres or through the supply chain itself. The aim of the partnership is to strengthen and grow the UK composites sector by helping to pull technology through to industry, push requirements back to academia and rapidly provide commercial solutions through effective referrals
